Microsoft cloud data centers doubled in the past year
To date, Microsoft has invested nearly €3 billion to build new data centers in Europe. This new in-region cloud infrastructure enables European companies to take full advantage of the cloud. Construction of two new data centers in France is underway, which will bring the total to eight data centers in the region upon completion.
With these new investments, more customers can meet European data compliance, sovereignty, and security needs while having the ability to innovate in the cloud.
Businesses in Europe can expect cloud to continue to grow in Europe. In October 2016 while speaking in Dublin, Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella stated “We continue to invest heavily in cloud infrastructure to meet the growing demand from European customers and partners.”
As part of the initiative, Microsoft has announced that they will offer Microsoft Azure, Office 365 and Dynamics 365 from multiple data centers in France.
